From Petit to Grand: a new chapter for Petit Paris

We look back with pride on a special year for our boutique. A year of growth, many vintage items finding new owners, and big steps – with the absolute highlight being the move to our new premises.

What once began as a small, one-day pop-up store, born from our love of vintage and the desire to share special pieces, gradually grew into something much bigger. With every encounter, every item sold, and every returning face, it became clear that this dream was here to stay. From our first cozy little building on Schoolstraat, we carefully and attentively built Petit Paris until we realized we had literally and figuratively outgrown our vintage space. The collection expanded, and the desire to showcase our vintage clothing even better grew stronger.

When the property across the street became available, we immediately knew: this was it. We didn't hesitate for long and jumped at the opportunity. While Yvonne spent all her days buying a huge inventory of vintage pearls in Paris, Dicky was already busy preparing in Burgum. In between, many wonderful plans were made and developed during daily FaceTime meetings.

From key to opening

On September 1st, we received the keys to our new building. What followed were weeks of renovations, painting, decorating, and, of course, washing and steaming the new collection. Every detail was carefully considered — from the wall colors to a makeover of the fitting rooms — with one goal: to create a boutique where our love for feminine, colorful vintage clothing truly comes to life.

At the end of September, the time had come: the doors of our new boutique opened. It was a celebratory moment , with the alderman cutting the pink ribbon and so many new and familiar faces stopping by to wish us luck and admire the new space. The move gave us something we'd longed for: space. With over three times the floor space and beautiful display windows, we can now better showcase our vintage treasures and showcase even more beautiful items. Every piece gets the attention it deserves, whether it's a statement blazer, an elegant dress, or a cashmere sweater.

Looking back, looking forward

Now that we've been here for a while, we can confidently say that the move was the best decision of the year. The building feels like home, for us and for our customers. A place where people can browse, find inspiration, and discover their own unique vintage style.
